Thank you for your interest in Mountain Bike Ayiti and the Haiti Ascent Stage Race. We have been working diligently towards the goal of an international sporting event in Haiti and it is finally becoming a reality. Now, more than ever, we could greatly use your help and support.
Registration is now open and is capped at 75 participants in the first year. There will be 15-20 pro riders and 15 Haitian racers. The remainder of the slots are open for amateurs who will get the experience of a lifetime.
While we expect to sell out, we want to build as much awareness as possible so that we attract mountain bikers who wil return from this experience as vocal advocates promoting Haiti as an undiscovered adventure destination spot.
You can help by sharing MTB Ayiti on websites, blogs, Facebook pages, and twitter streams that have any sort of connection to mountain biking, trail sports, or adventure tourism. This is a guerilla marketing effort to create a groundswell of interest. We have gotten great stories in the media, including Nat Geo online, NPR, The World, Huffington Post, and Outside. We have stunning pictures and a jawdropping video that we would love to go viral. You can spend as much or as little time as you like, as every bit helps.
We are also looking for one person to lead the volunteer team, so if you are inspired to take on more responsibility, please let me know. Although there is no direct compensation for this role, we do have some cool swag, and if you are planning to participate in the race, we could discount your fee and offset some of the travel expenses.
Sponsors and Partners:
We are looking for corporations, organizations, and individuals whose values are aligned with the MTB Ayiti vision to make the Haiti Ascent Stage Race a world-class event. We have a full range of opportunities from supporting an individual racer to Title and Presenting Sponsor for the entire event. A 1 hour sports special will be broadcast on Universal Sports to a national audience in North America, so sponsors will receive significant recognition for their investment.
You can help by sharing this opportunity with organizations and individuals interested in sponsorship. Sponsors and partners can be in Haiti, the US, or elsewhere, and can be in nearly any sort of business, including biking, sports nutrition, insurance, water, retail, etc.
We have professional brochures that detail the investment options and extensive benefits from the international exposure. If you make an introduction, we will happily follow up with the appropriate contact. If you wish to get more involved, and help close sponsorship deals, we would be happy to discuss the details of that role with you, including potential commissions.
We have been very fortunate thus far to land great stories in the media, including Nat Geo online, NPR, The World, Huffington Post, and Outside. As the race gets closer, we want to continue spreading the story far and wide. We have a great story, accompanied by stunning pictures and a jaw-dropping video that we just need to get into the right hands. If you have any media contacts in the US, Haiti, or elsewhere, please share with them our website. You can spend as much or as little time as you like, as every bit helps.
We are also looking for one person to lead the volunteer team, so if you are inspired to take on more responsibility, please let me know. The ideal candidate would be someone with extensive media/PR experience, and a connection to Haiti or biking, but anyone who is passionate will be a huge contributor. Although there is no direct compensation for this role, we do have some cool swag, and if you are planning to participate in the race, we could discount your fee and offset some of the travel expenses.
